Western Washington is hard on outdoor wood. Long, damp stretches, shaded yards under big evergreens and very little drying time give moss, mildew and rot a head start. That is exactly the environment capped composite was made for.

Sheds water

A protective polymer cap resists moisture soaking in, so boards are far less prone to swelling, cupping and splitting than bare wood.

Easier on moss

Moss and grime sit on the surface instead of rooting into the grain, so a gentle wash usually takes care of it.
